So much to do, so little time. With a never-ending to-do list, setting boundaries can be tough.
Whether you’re dealing with health issues, trying to grow your blog, work a regular job, and/or build your business, it’s important to be flexible. And flexibility doesn’t mean trying to cram more into your busy schedule. True flexibility means being open to adjusting your schedule to make room for self-care.
The types of adjustments you’ll need to make will depend on your unique situation. You may need to adjust:
- self-expectations (being realistic about what you can reasonably handle based on your health condition and current workload)
- other people’s expectations (learning how to say no, even if it means disappointing them)
- sleep schedule (getting plenty of rest)
- morning routine (allowing time to prepare for your day so that you’re not rushed)
- medications (taking more or less to help yourself feel better)
- work environment (requesting accommodations such as a special desk, chair, or other equipment to reduce strain)
Even small adjustments in any of these areas can work wonders in improving your health and overall productivity. And, by clearing room in your schedule and improving your surroundings, you can declutter your mental space, refresh your mindset, and raise your vibration.
3. Keep Hoping for a Brighter Future
I’m a big fan of being grateful for the little things in life. However, I also believe in building a better future. This means maintaining hope.
There are a few different mindset strategies that can cultivate hope:
- Reciting mantras
- Using positive affirmations
- Joining support groups like Spiritual Women on a Mission
The key to maintaining an optimistic attitude is to surround yourself with positivity. Find out what inspires and motivates you, and get as much of it as you can. Keep your hope alive and your spirits high.
3. Move Beyond Simply Surviving the Day
Sometimes, it may feel like each day is a struggle. It may seem like a miracle if you can make it to the end of the day in one piece. Survival mode can get you from one day to the next, but what if you could thrive, not just survive?
Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, or a flare-up, do what you can to manage your symptoms, then let it go. Take your mind off of your issues.
